The Seattle Owls

The Seattle Owls was a womens baesball team circa 1930s. They won championships in 1938 and 1939. If memory serves me correctly from the Pitch Black exhibit that was here in Seattle a while back, the below photo is of the 1938 team. Sadly, not a lot is known about who these women were, and the Owls are a bit of a mystery, championships notwithstanding. I neglected to take a picture of the accompanying plaque while I was there, but I believe the only woman identified in this picture thus far is lower second from the left. I would have to think that some of these women might still be alive or at least have had family members somewhere in the country, if not right here in the Northwest. I will update this page if I find out any more information. It is a mystery worth solving!
