Hiatus at S331
I have battled myself on this for a week now, but I have come to the conclusion that there is no other alternative for me.
Due to personal and technical circumstances beyond my control, I need to put this blog on temporary suspension. My computer is in a bad way right now, and I just don’t have the money to replace it. I simply cannot stay online with any reliability, which makes writing and posting drafts and reading things online an exercise in futility; and don’t even get me started on trying to post photos. Repair has not worked so far, though I am planning on trying more fixes before I start saving for a new one. The personal stuff is nobody’s business but my own. Between the two issues, it is nearly impossible for me to maintain a website on any sort of regular basis at this point in time.
My plan is to come back and start writing around the World Series at the earliest, and the offseason at the latest. The site will not disappear, because I really do want to keep writing, there just won’t be any content at least for the month of September 2011. I am still on Twitter, because I can use that with my phone. It is with an extremely heavy heart that I have to do this; I love baseball, I love the Mariners, but I just can’t do the website thing for a while. I still have games left on my plan, and I still will be toting my camera around with me everywhere, so I’ll be around – just not here.
Check back around World Series time, and follow me on Twitter for both baseball and non-baseball-related stuff in the interim. Thank you for reading and following my baseball adventures thus far, and I will be back as soon as I can.
Update, 9.3.11: Things are going on a nice little schedule for return. I’m currently looking at the end of September, and am hoping to have a nice new laptop by the time the playoffs start winding up. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
